Owen is a director and author whose work is defined by emotional resonance, strong visual storytelling, and a grounded understanding of human complexity. A former U.S. Army Lieutenant who served in Afghanistan, Pataki brings a distinct perspective to his filmmaking—blending discipline with creativity. After his military service, he studied at the Met Film School at Ealing Studios in London, sharpening his craft and embracing the power of visual narrative.

In 2017, he co-authored When the Light Falls with his sister and bestselling novelist Allison Pataki. As a director, his short film The Pigeon earned Best Original Screenplay at the Manhattan Film Festival, and his other projects include Searchers in Winter (2021), Company Retreat (2020), and Augustów. At Inspired Artists Productions, Pataki brings a thoughtful and focused approach to storytelling—balancing cinematic precision with a deep sense of humanity.
